Freedom of speech

(Also see my page on the AI campaign “Irrepressible.info”)

I’m a firm believer of equal human rights, freedom of speech being a natural part of this. I hold one exception: using your words for defamatory accusations towards a part that is not able of defending him-/herself.

Other than that, I believe that everyone should have the right to express their meanings through words, no matter how annoying, provoking or even mean those meanings should be. When material is banned and disappears into the underground (because a ban will never make the forbidden words vanish completely), when you don’t know excactly what is being said and how - _that_ is when the words become really dangerous. If kept in the open, at least you have a chance to fight back.
